Ballerina RZ is a productive and well-adapted butterhead lettuce seed variety from Rijk Zwaan.  This makes it the best lettuce around in its butterhead category. This variety produces shiny green colour and semi closed heads.  Ballerina is popular for its sweet buttery taste and shiny leaves making it perfect for fresh salads and cooking.

Ballerina RZ is strong against tip burn and bolting, both major disorders of lettuce cultivation.  This butterhead lettuce seed variety is slow heading, producing tasty, uniform-shaped lettuce heads.

Ballerina RZ iceberg lettuce variety performs very well in both outdoor and hydroponics growing environments.

Butterhead type lettuces are soft, tasty, velvety textured, small loosely formed head and tasty lettuce variation.  They are known for their ‘buttery’ taste which explains the name. Relative to most other lettuce types, Butterheads are slightly more tolerant of heat. Some even refer to them as “cabbage lettuce” due to perceived similarity to cabbage in shape and color.
